VOLUNTEER & Intern at CRMPI!
Hello maker of change!
We are seeking hardworking, motivated, independent folks with clear communication skills and an ability to work under pressure to volunteer or intern here at CRMPI.
We are one of the oldest continually operating permaculture facilities in the United States – and we’re continuing to break new ground with the help of our wonderful volunteers and interns!
Volunteers: Volunteers here at CRMPI are typically hosted from a few days up to a month. We will focus on smaller projects and more daily maintenance on site.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer application form here and send an email over to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interns: Interns at CRMPI are hosted from around a month up to a year. This is a more long term, learning based, integrated approach. We will focus on larger projects and more individual tasks and assignments. If you are interested in an internship, please fill out the intern application form here and send us your resume and cover letter explaining your motivation and goals to email@example.com.
We accept volunteers from May through October.
Work days begin around 9am and end around 5pm.
Breakfast is from 8-9 followed by a morning meeting with the CRMPI farm managers.
Lunch takes place around noon.
Dinner is around 5pm.
We share the responsibility of cooking and cleaning here at CRMPI. We love to have lunch together, with a break after, prior to getting back to work. Dinner can be shared with the group or alone if you need some quiet time. We keep meals primarily vegan and gluten free, though encourage you to bring your own food if you have any dietary restrictions or need more to munch on throughout the day!
You are likely to engage in and learn the following:
- Nursery Work
- Greenhouse Management and Maintenance
- Wild land stewardship
- Animal husbandry
We will typically work five days on (from 9am to 5pm) with two days off. We will work with you to create a schedule that works for you. We ask for clear communication when it comes to scheduling, as there is much to do on site! We would love for everyone to be able to experience this beautiful valley on your days off and can assist you with finding fun activities on and off site during that time.
Availability varies depending on season and course schedule.
CRMPI has thrived for more than three decades due to dedicated volunteers like you, thank you!
Please note: As the CRMPI property is positioned on the steep slopes of Basalt Mountain, it takes a certain amount of physical mobility to navigate through our gardens and teaching facilities. Additionally, no pets are allowed on the property, due to the sensitive nature of the ecosystem we maintain. Any questions regarding accessibility or special circumstances can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
